I was sitting at the office today trying to narrow down what mailbox topic I would blog about today when a friend of mine sent me a link to a question. A woman had seen on TV a mailbox in front of a house and the mailbox looked just like the house.
|This question was posted on Yahoo Answers which allows other Yahoo members to answer their questions. This was asked 10 months ago so I’m running just a little late on a reply of my own.I’m guess that since she saw this mailbox in a movie or on TV that she must have assumed they had some special effects guy whip something up. This sounds expensive to me and probably not a route that most of us have open to them. I was surprised that this person had only been given one answer to her question which left her with no options. The person who answered suggested that she go to a local high school and talk to the shop teacher or the manager of the local Lowe’s hardware store. The shop teacher maybe an okay idea but no hardware store will know about this. It really takes more than someone who is good with a saw and tape measure to make a replica of something.
You need someone who is handy with a saw but who also has an artistic touch as well to get the best results. I am here to say not to worry because we have the connections that can put together any custom wooden mailbox or wooden post. This will give someone the most unique mailbox because it was designed by you for you.
|Last year we started carrying a line of products from Pinehill Woodcraft. They have taken the idea of novelty mailboxes and brought it to a level I had never seen before. They take a metal mailbox and then build a wooden cage around it. They are some of the best looking and as realistic as a mailbox can look compared to what it is modeled after. They have things like cats and dogs or even crazy things like a cannon. Not only can you take one of the models that you see on our website and customize the colors, you could even ask to have built something that hasn’t been be done yet. Make a mailbox that matches your house, or a dog that looks like your dog, the possiblities are almost endless. You can come to us with your idea, a drawing, or even a picture and then in about 2 months you can get mailbox with a personal touch and its own uniqueness.Along with Pinehill making custom mailboxes, our very own post makers at the MailboxWorks have the ability to make you a custom mailbox post. Most people don’t know that we make the cedar posts that we sell and feel they are limited to the 3 designs that we offer. Since we make them, we can make all sorts of design changes. This way you can get a nice post that will have features that can match the mailbox you are planning to put on it. The next time you need a mailbox, think about going custom. It’s the only way to find the perfect match.
